In what can only be described as a rout,
David Vandevender easily won the 2007 MVGC Member's
Championship.
The battle for second place was very
tight and came down to the last hole (#12), between Ed
Snyder and Kevin Bright. With a one stroke lead for
second place, Kevin hit his drive out of bounds, while Ed
was able to keep his tee shot in play. Dale Bright
finished in fourth place. Keith Hamrick withdrew in
the middle of the second round for unspecified reasons.
Jeremy Snyder was unable to play in the second round.

W = Withdrew for Unspecified Reasons
The very dry weather conditions over the
summer had all the players facing a very difficult golf
course, which heavily attributed to the high scores.
Although still covered with green grass, the fairways were
very dry and hard, leading to many unpredictable bounces.
The greens were in possibly their best condition ever.
In spite of being heavily watered in the days leading up to
the tournament, the combination of closely cut greens, the
most difficult pin placements possible and the recent dry
conditions put putting accuracy and distance control at a
premium. Every player had multiple instances of
putting their ball off the green. |
