The 6th hole at MVGC is truly the signature hole of the golf course. It's a straightaway par 4 that features an elevated tee box, a wide open fairway, an enormous sand trap just in front of the green that is shaped like a giant number six and a green that slopes steeply away from the fairway making stopping any approach shot a real task. Don't forget to stop for a moment and take in the breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys and mountaintops while you're playing this hole. The blue tees are located on the hillside just to the left of the #2 green, while the white tees are just down the hill and to the right. This is one of the few holes on the course that you can "grip it and rip it". Contrary to normal golf logic, going straight at this hole can easily get you into trouble, whether it's because of the sand trap or the sloping green. This hole is best played up either side of the fairway. If playing the right side of the fairway, there is a small landing area just between the tip of the sand trap and the green that you can use to slow your ball down and roll it onto the green. If you're playing from the left side of the fairway, there is a much larger landing area along the left edge of the sand trap, but there is also a 2nd cut of rough that will gobble up any balls that are hit too short. This hole offers a great opportunity for everything from eagle to par depending on your shotmaking skills.
