The 5th hole at MVGC is a short little par 3 that will surely challenge your shotmaking abilities. There is at least one thing on this hole that will intimidate almost any golfer, whether it's the large pond, the long carry, the heavy rough on the hillside in front of the green or the steep hillside behind the green. Your only hope for a decent score on this hole is to hit your ball onto the middle of the green or onto the landing area to the left.

There are two sets of blue tees on this hole that get rotated due to wear and tear. The upper set of blue tees, which were installed for the 2003 season, are tucked back into the wooded hillside and provide a challenging slightly downhill shot to this small green. The lower set of blue tees are located just above the lower cart path on this hole and provide a direct shot at the green. The white tees are located on the hillside just above and in front of the lower set of blue tees.

This hole is about as straightforward as they come. Hit your ball on the green and putt it in. If you hit it anywhere else, you will likely be scrambling for bogey. The front edge of this green will feed balls back toward the pond into some very thick rough. Other than that, the green is mostly level and very easy to putt on.
