The third hole at MVGC features an elevated tee box that overlooks all 9 holes of the course and provides a breathtaking 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains.

The blue tees are usually positioned at the front of the tee box which is situated on the hillside above the 2nd green. The white tees are usually at the back of the same tee box, which wraps partially around the side of the hill, making the fairway appear much more narrow than from the blue tees.

As shown in the picture above, the domed fairway runs along the top of a small ridge all the way to the green. Shots to the left side of the fairway will usually feed down into the 4th fairway, while shots to the right will usually kick to the right and under a small grove of trees. If you can stick your tee shot in the fairway, you should have a pretty good opportunity of reaching this green in two.

The approach shot to this green can be tricky. The left and back sides of the green slope away from the fairway, which makes stopping a ball on the green a little more difficult. The center and right sides of the green are mostly flat except for about a 3-foot wide strip along the right edge. Consider yourself lucky if you birdie this hole and be glad if you can escape with par.
